We recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance for smaller events (under 30 guests) and 4–6 weeks for larger events, weddings, or festivals. Last-minute bookings may be possible depending on availability — always worth reaching out!
We require a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure your event date. The remaining balance is due 48 hours before the event. We accept cash, Venmo, Zelle, and major credit cards.
We serve all neighborhoods within Greater Boston including Boston proper, Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline, Newton, Quincy, Dedham, Medford, Malden, and surrounding areas. Events beyond a 25-mile radius of downtown Boston may incur a small travel fee. Contact us to confirm your location.
Absolutely! Ethiopian cuisine is naturally abundant in vegan and vegetarian options. Our injera is teff-based and naturally gluten-light. We can accommodate most dietary needs with advance notice. Please let us know about allergies or restrictions when you submit your inquiry.
We arrive 45–60 minutes before service to set up chafing dishes, signage, serving utensils, and any decorative elements. After service, our team handles all cleanup, including disposal of serving equipment. You won't have to lift a finger.
Yes — 100%! All packages allow you to choose your preferred main dishes, sides, and beverages from our full menu. For weddings and large events, we can also create entirely custom menus based on your theme and preferences. Just let us know during the consultation call.
Yes! Our Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony (Buna) is available as an add-on to the Celebration and Grand Feast packages. It involves roasting green coffee beans, brewing in a traditional clay jebena, and serving three rounds of coffee — a deeply meaningful Ethiopian cultural tradition. Contact us to learn more.
Cancellations made 14+ days before the event receive a 50% refund of the deposit. Cancellations within 14 days forfeit the deposit. We are happy to reschedule your event to a new date at no charge, subject to availability. Rescheduling requests must be made at least 7 days in advance.
Yes! We offer private tasting sessions for wedding couples and corporate event planners (up to 4 people) at our central kitchen prep location in Boston. Tastings are complimentary upon booking of the Celebration or Grand Feast package.
Yes, 100%. Dejen Gursha holds an active Boston Inspectional Services Department (ISD) Food Safety Permit, ServSafe Certified Food Protection Manager certifications, and a $2,000,000 General Liability & Commercial Insurance Policy. We can provide Certificates of Insurance (COI) directly to corporate buildings and wedding venues upon request.
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), corporate checks, ACH wire transfers, Apple Pay, Venmo, and Zelle. Net-30 invoicing is available for approved corporate and university clients.
